School Liaison Activities
New College Durham organises a number of school liaison activities which take place throughout the year. College curriculum staff visit schools in the area on request to provide students and parents with an insight into various careers and opportunities available to students at the College once they have completed their compulsory education. There is also the opportunity for students to participate in taster days arranged at the College where they are able to gain brief ‘hands-on’ experience in various curriculum areas.
The College’s Marketing staff also support numerous activities in schools throughout the year. These range from providing course and enrolment information evenings to more direct involvement through activities organised by the Durham Education Business Partnership ie You’re Hired You’re Fired, Duck Days, Mock Interviews, School’s Cool and Careers in Action.
