Healthy futures extravaganza

Catering students from New College Durham helped to promote healthy eating as part of Durham’s first Healthier Futures Extravaganza at Abbey Leisure Centre in Pity Me.

The students prepared fruits from around the world, with five separate stalls offering pupils from The Hermitage and Gilesgate Sports College a taste of Asia, Africa, South America, North America and Europe.

As well as an opportunity to learn about nutrition and healthy eating, the day provided a fun and vibrant display of rainbow coloured fruits from across the globe and an exciting opportunity for the local schools to learn about other cultures and cuisines.
