Two Travel and Tourism Foundation Degree students are travelling to Western Kenya to take part in community work on behalf of the College.

Two intrepid Travel and Tourism students from New College Durham are travelling to Kenya support the charity Team Kenya.

Katherine Cooper from Meadowfield and Zoe Breward from Peterlee, both 20 years old, are studying on the second year of their Travel and Tourism Foundation Degree at New College Durham and .  They will be flying off to Kenya directly after attending their official Graduation Ceremony at the College. 

The students will be based in a community in Western Kenya and will be involved with activities such as homework clubs, family visits, school lessons, sports days, helping out on specific community projects and even taking some of the younger children in a car for the first time to nearby areas of beauty, which they will not have ever seen before.

The pair will provide regular updates on their trip on the College's Facebook page, 'Official New College Durham'.
