Callie Burrell left New College Durham in the summer after completing her studies and has now gone on to open her own successful salon in Ryhope called ‘Callies’.  The salon offers a wide range of treatments which Callie mastered during her time at the College, including nail extensions, facials, waxing, eye treatments and spray tans.

Callie attended a beauty therapy summer school at New College Durham where she gained her NVQ Level 1 in Beauty Therapy.  She then enrolled at the College in 2005 and spent the next 2 years successfully completing the NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy. 

Her former lecturer at the College, Karina Moderate, said:  “Callie was an excellent pupil who achieved the Matis Student of the Year award during her time here at New College Durham.  We wish her every success with her new business”.
