News about global warming and its impact on the environment is everywhere. As a College we take our responsibility to reduce our impact on the environment very seriously and sustainability issues are high on our agenda.
The design specification of the new campus development featured a wide range of environmentally friendly features which include:
- Operating a sophisticated energy management system
- Minimum energy and water consumption
- Rain water harvesting
- High insulation standards in all buildings
- Solar thermal water heating to supplement hot water storage vessels
- Low CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions (link to intranet: CO2 Calculator)
- Making maximum use of daylight/natural light
