News about global warming and its impact on the environment is everywhere. As a College we take our responsibility to reduce our impact on the environment very seriously and sustainability issues are high on our agenda.

Water

New mains infrastructure. No leaks
Grey water recovery/rain water harvesting which comprises 15,000 litre underground storage tanks to the main building, which is used to flush toilets (supplemented by mains water if the tanks are low and provides 30m3 of recycled water).
Non-concussive taps which automatically turn off throughout building excluding kitchens and laboratories. These are also fitted with aerator nozzles, which further restrict water flow.
Toilets were designed with Cistermiser flush controls to the urinals giving a flush approx 3 times per hour or after use. These were subsequently disconnected and changed to Enviro-fresh Bio-sleeve which flush 4 times a day only. This also provides a de-odoriser to the toilet.
