Chrissy Rouse visits NCD

Professional Motorcycle Road Racer, Chrissy Rouse, from Team Haribo Racing, recently visited the College to speak to motorcycle students.

The students were highly engaged during the event which saw Chrissy speak about areas of road racing planning and prepping, whilst also sharing experiences from his career. It gave the students an insight into road racing as well as focussing on a career which is highly motivational.

Chrissy signed autographs, posed for photos and also offered the students the opportunity to buy highly discounted tickets for the knockout round of the BSB Championship.

Stuart Gardner, Level 1 Motorcycle student, said: “Chrissy was brilliant. He showed us his bike and gave advice of how to get onto the ladder of employment. I’m looking forward to going to watch him in Scotland in July.”

Robin King, Lecturer, said: “Chrissy was a complete gentleman with the students. He kept them engaged with his amusing stories of his career in the British Championship, as well as giving them a role model figure. He underpinned several areas of motorcycle suspension set up, which we have recently been studying, as well as demonstrating the importance of motorcycle setup in a highly practical session.”

Chrissy will return to the College to deliver a further session during Employability Week. He is also offering placement opportunities for three students, prepping his bike at a British Superbike Round of the championship.
