Course: Access to Higher Education (Health)
Previous school: The Hermitage Academy
Access to HE student Alison came to New College Durham as a mature student. She juggled her family and work commitments alongside her studies.
She said: “I really liked the support I received from staff at New College Durham. The campus was really good too. The quiet area in the Library was essential as I have a family and need total silence to study. The best thing about the course was learning new things and how to write academically. I would describe my time at New College Durham as exciting, rewarding and worthwhile.”
Alison is now studying BA (Hons) Social Work at New College Durham.
This course has been designed to give mature students the skills and knowledge necessary to progress to a range of higher education courses.
