Apprenticeships

An Apprenticeship combines hands-on training at work with studying at College, allowing you to learn on the job while gaining knowledge, skills, nationally recognised qualifications and earning money - all at the same time!

Campus Life

Our £35 million campus offers an impressive range of buildings, facilities and resources to give you a modern and stimulating learning  environment.  The three buildings, which make up our modern campus are light and spacious and were designed with todays student in mind.  You will have access to a wide range of facilities, most of which are open to the general public, including a travel agency, hair and beauty salons, health and fitness centre and a nursery.  There are also restaurants, shops, cafes and free car parking.  For full deatils about our campus click here.

Learning Resources Centre

Our Learning Resources Centre is located in the West Mall over two floors.  We provide access to a variety of information resources and IT facilities, places for you to study in groups or quietly on your own.

Information Technology

Our Learning Resources Centre offers you free access to over 180
networked computers, printers and scanning facilities, the Internet and email.  You can also find other networked computers in various other rooms around the College.

NCD Online and Email

You will have your own log in and email address and you will also have access to NCD Online, our Virtual Learning Environment for online course information, noticeboards and communication with your tutors and other students.

Online Databases and Electronic Journals

We subscribe to a variety of online databases and electronic journals for up-to-date reports and articles, which can help you with your studies.  They are accessed through the Athens gateway and you will be given your own unique password to use at a College terminal or through remote access.

Catalogues

Our online library catalogue, iLink, lets you search for items that are held in our library and enables you to manage your library account. If we don’t have the book or article you require we can borrow it for you, free of charge, from another library.

Remote Access

You can access our online resources such as Athens, Blackboard and your email from home or another remote terminal 24/7 so your learning need never stop.

Student Life

We have a large student community at the College so you’ll meet lots of new people during your time with us.  The classes are often small informal groups which makes it easier to get to know your tutors and other students on your programme of study.
You’ll get regular feedback from your tutors on how well you are doing and all tutors have an open access policy, which means you can get individual support when you need it.

Students’ Union

Our Students’ Union is for the benefit of all our students and plays an active part in College life.  Throughout the year the Students’ Union organises lots of social, cultural and sporting events and activities.  There is a Students’ Union area based in our Sports and Music Building where you can relax with your friends.  Students’ Union membership also offers you generous student discounts at shops, restaurants and bars with your National Union of Students (NUS) card.
