How To Apply

Our Apprenticeship application process

It’s never too early to apply for a place. We are one of the leading Colleges of further and higher education with an excellent reputation for success, placing us in the top 10% of colleges nationally for further education success rates. Due to our high level of success and achievement and the popularity of programmes, it is essential to get your application in early. After receiving your application form we will normally invite you into the College to discuss your application. Following this, you may receive an offer on your chosen Apprenticeship, which may be subject to you achieving specified examination results.

Early application 1
Early application is recommended, particularly if you have already chosen your Apprenticeship. To reduce the risk of disappointment applicants that would like an early decision should apply by Friday 3 December 2010.

Early application 2
You can still get an early decision if you do not choose your Apprenticeship during the first term. Applicants must submit their completed application forms by Friday 4 February 2010.

You can contact our Apprenticeship office for further details, call 0191 375 4932 or email apprenticeships@newdur.ac.uk.

Regular admissions
Our admissions policy is to accept applications as they come in, until all spaces on a particular programme have been filled. We accept applications up until the end of June 2011 or until the programme is full, whichever comes first. After this, the late application procedure commenceswhere places are limited to certain programmes. To have the best chance of being accepted on your chosen Apprenticeship we recommend that you get your application in early.

Late applications
This is for applicants who have not secured a place on a programme by the end of June 2011. Available from July to end September 2011 this process can help you find a suitable vacancy on an Apprenticeship programme. If you are flexible, there is a good chance you will find a place on a programme. You are eligible to put in a late application if you do not hold an offer from this College, other colleges, sixth form centres or training providers, or you have not met entry criteria. Information on programmes with available spaces will be displayed on our website: www.newcollegedurham.ac.uk/apply from July 2011 onwards.
