Beauty therapists, also known as beauticians, carry out facial and body treatments to enhance their clients' appearance and improve their sense of well-being.
 

 
About Beauty Therapy

You could be a beautician, nail artist, make-up artist, masseuse, technician, work on cruiseships, health farms, spa's and airlines, manage your own salon or even go freelance.

If this is your plan then you’ll need to develop good communication and people skills, creativity and practical skills, learn how to listen and communicate well, have a high standard of personal care and enough stamina to stand on your feet for most of the day – trust us it’s not that easy!

You will learn how to apply and offer instruction on make-up, manicure, pedicure, face painting, the art of photographic make-up, nail art, facial massage and skin care, how to provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments, wax depilation, advanced face and body electrical treatments, body massage, aromatherapy, Indian Head Massage and electrical epilation.

Anything else I need to know 

Go head to head with other students at the region’s hottest hair & beauty competition; the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists’ (AHT) Hair and Beauty Trainee Competition. Oh yes, and you will also gain industry experience in our very own commercial hair and beauty salon Halo where you will look and feel professional with your very own uniform and equipment. You can even gain extra work experience.
