Travel and Tourism

You could be a travel agent, tourist information centre assistant, resort representative, tour manager, flight attendant, hotel manager or events manager.

You will develop strong communication skills, good organisational skills, team working skills, problem solving skills, work well under pressure and learn how to use your own initiative (that’s ‘thinking for yourself’ to me and you!).

Anything else I need to know?

Our annual travel and tourism talent show is a blast and there are even cash prizes for the best acts. You may also take part in outdoor pursuits at Whickham Thorns, assault courses at the Lake District and trips to Flamingo Land. You will get work experience in our very own travel agency, Global Travel and you can experience our aircraft cabin i.e. a replica of an aeroplane interior. The cabin has overhead storage boxes and aeroplane seating – in fact everything you would expect on a real plane, except a pilot!
