Health and Social Care jobs have one important thing in common; they all support aspects of daily life and help people cope with ill health. If you want a rewarding career that is hard work and interesting, then look no further. Of course you will also have to be of the highest integrity (that’s being very honest to you and me).
So have you got the personality and the passion to help others? You could be a personal assistant, a home care worker or community worker. You could choose to work with older people, people with
disabilities, people who use mental health services or families and young people.
Anything else I need to know?
As a Health and Social Care student you can do loads of course related activities and trips. The college also has a specially designed Care Base room which is equipped with all the necessary equipment you would need and expect if working in a hospital or care home.
CRB (Criminal Records Bureau)
Oh and another thing: We do a full enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check on every student but we are sure your record is as clean as a whistle! You will also need two good references.
Courses available range from Introductory and First Diplomas to National Awards, Certificates and Diplomas. In 2009 we gained 100% achievement with a number of students who completed their study progessing into social work, nursing or Higher Education courses.
