Transition Support Services and Mentors
A mentoring service is available upon request for year 11 students at risk of dropping out of school and becoming NEET. Our Personal Learning Coaches (PLCs) can work with schools to target these students to encourage a smooth, positive transition.
Personal Learning Coaches
The Personal Learning Coach (PLC) team can help students make the transition to college a lot easier. They can offer advice and encouragement, as well as assisting students set achievable targets. They have the time, expertise and energy to help potential students develop, mature and reach their own unique potential.
There is a Personal Learning Coach based in each school and vocational area in college, who are trained to listen to and support the students who may wish to apply for their area. They are able to access a range of resources, internal and external agencies who can also offer students help in making the transition to College.
We offer a holistic service that is tailored to fit students individual needs.

Careers and course guidance
ASC provides a comprehensive range of information on careers, courses in further and higher education, personal or health issues, student funding and welfare. ASC offers confidential and impartial services for all learners, whether prospective, current or alumni.
Our well-qualified and experienced specialist staff offer "drop-in" sessions and appointments. Drop-ins are for quick queries on careers and student funding. Appointments are available for in-depth, careers guidance, advice on student funding or personal counselling.
