Alex was drawn in by the modules delivered on our computing course.
He said:
“The modules on the IT course at NCD were all relevant and provided a good insight into the IT industry, which fit perfectly with my interests. I found the website design module especially interesting, and it helped to inspire me to create my own web design business, Tech Dream.
“I enjoyed the flexibility of learning the most at NCD – it allowed me to balance working with my friends and doing coursework from home. Having extra time gave me the opportunity to focus some of my time building the foundations of Tech Dream.
“The best thing about studying at NCD was the support I received from my lecturers. My tutor, Dave Ray, played a massive part in inspiring and helping me to setup Tech Dream. Without his help, I wouldn’t be where I am today! My work experience also helped me learn how to deal with customer enquiries and improve customer experiences, both of which are skills that are massively beneficial when working with my web design clients.
“The computing facilities were great, especially using Raspberry Pis in the computing labs. I used the onsite gym between lessons too.
Alex has progressed to study BSc (Hons) Computer Networks and Cyber Security at Northumbria University, he continued:
“As part of my degree, I am heading into a year of work experience with Organon where I will be a IT Technical Analyst for the pharmaceutical firm.”
