Innovative International Trade Unit is ready for take off

The Business and Management Team at New College Durham has been working in consultation with the North East England Chamber of Commerce (NEECC) and the Department of International Trade to develop a new International Trade unit.

The new innovative unit has been developed as part of the College’s newly validated Open University accredited 3 year BA (Hons) Degree in Business and Management. The BA (Hons) degree complements an already well established Further and Higher Education suite of business and management qualifications available at the College.

From Level 2 through to a full Masters provision in Senior Leadership and Management, many of the qualifications at New College Durham are available full or part time with a range of funding options, from student loads to apprenticeship funding. Growing the number of Higher and Degree Apprenticeships is a key part of the Chamber’s campaign to build a Working North East.

Julie Underwood, International Trade Director for the NEECC, said: “We were delighted to support the International Trade unit of New College Durham’s Business and Management degree. I am sure learners will find this degree useful, both academically and practically, for wherever their future career paths lead.”

Steve Bell, Head of School for Business, Management and Professional programmes at New College Durham, commented: “The College was keen to develop a unit that recognises the fact that local organisations are starting to think bigger in their approach to doing business, with global trade being a key factor in our local economy’s success. This unit is an exciting part of our new degree and is also available to businesses as a stand-alone training package.”
