This programme is part of the Foundation Studies offer and is suitable for those students who wish to progress directly into employment.
There are two elements of the programme, the first being the Pre-Employment group which prepares students to travel independently, develop the knowledge skills and behaviours to prepare them for working life, now and in the future - as confident, individual members of society.
*Days and times of study are subject to change. Timetables are confirmed at the start of term.
Teaching & assessment
Learning support will be built into the programme to meet the varied needs of the students in each group. Assessment is done throughout the course and includes course work, tutor observations and in some cases exams.
Maths and English
You will study maths and English, and will take exams where necessary.
Maths and English skills are essential for the workplace and university.
A specialist tutor will work with individual students to find the most suitable placement for their needs and interests. They will then work with both the employer and the student on an on-going basis.
The aim of a placement is to provide you with real work experience to help you progress into employment, therefore, you are expected to spend two days in work placement to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to gain sustained employment
