This advanced electrical installation course will develop your knowledge and practical skills in a technical setting, preparing you to progress within the electrotechnical building services industry.You will unlock industry standard skills in our electrical installation workshops, using the tools and equipment you will use in the workplace.Gain the hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge that employers are looking for, with help from tutors with vast industry experience.
Entry Criteria
The course is designed for qualified electricians who want to expand their skills to include the installation and maintenance of single electric vehicle charging units in both domestic and commercial properties.
You will hold one of the following to access this course:
- NVQ Level 3
- ECS Gold Card
- JIB Electrician
- Approved Electrician Card
You must be aged 18 or over. It is recommended that you are up to date with the latest wiring regulations (18th Edition).
Additional Costs
You will need a scientific calculator, stationery and boots, trousers and overalls.

Teaching and Assessment
This qualification aims to provide you with the expert guidance needed to develop your knowledge and understanding of electric vehicle charging equipment installation.
You will study for 16 hours a week, over four evenings. These guided learning hours cover teaching materials and assessments (practical and theory).

You must complete a work placement. Employer involvement provides a clear progression route to work, developing your employability skills and practical experience and learning.

This industry qualification is acknowledged by the Electrotechnical Certification Scheme (ECS). The JIB supports this qualification as being important for employment within the industry.
