FliC (Future Leisure in Coxhoe)
Melanie Adams, Centre Manager at FliC (Future Leisure in Coxhoe), said: “Having both apprentices has provided us with a much needed addition to our staff team. It has helped us financially as we were fortunate to get funding to cover their salaries otherwise we could not have afforded the additional staff that our business required.
“With an increase in confidence that has developed throughout their apprenticeship, both of them have demonstrated their initiative and good planning and preparation for their work. Their customer service skills have been refined and their ability to work with other members of the team has been impressive. The apprentices have provided a fresh, new, young workforce which has boosted morale amongst existing staff.
“New College Durham has provided us with support including on-site visits and assistance with sourcing funding. I would recommend the apprenticeship scheme to other businesses as it is a wonderful way to get young people the vital experience they need for their future and can be enormously helpful to employers.”
This apprenticeship focuses on the important support role within a business or organisation.
