T-Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction

As part of the first wave of T-Levels released, our T-Level Technical Qualification in Design, Surveying and Planning has been developed in collaboration with employers, professional bodies, universities and businesses to ensure you are prepared for the world of work or further study.

+Entry requirements

You will hold GCSEs at grade 6 in maths, English and a science.

You will need to be able to commit to an industry placement of at least 45 days.

+Teaching and assessment

Your overall grade will comprise the grade you achieved on the core component and the occupational specialism you studied. Your industry placement is assessed through your performance in the workplace by your work-based supervisor and your tutor.

Enrichment activities will include a range of guest speakers, product and industry displays, CSCS card achievement and site visits – all to enhance perspective and promote confidence in your career ambitions.

+Work placement

The T-Level is 80% classroom-based learning and 20% industry placement. You will undertake a minimum of 315 hours of work placement in industry.

You will always perform to the best of your ability and conduct yourself in a professional manner as if an employee of your placement organisation.

Our employers work with us to support curriculum design, live projects, work placements, guest speaking, educational trips and visits and competitions.

All of these activities help to enhance the teaching and learning experience and ensure relevance to curriculum content helping ensure you gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours expected.
