Tutor Support

Higher Education (HE) Academic Support Tutor

At the start of your programme, you will be introduced to a range of higher education study skills that you will continue to develop throughout your studies. These include critical thinking, identifying and using appropriate academic resources, referencing, and effective presentation of your work. While some of these skills may feel challenging at first, they will become more familiar and manageable with practice and guidance.

To support your development, our HE Academic Support Tutor is based in the University Centre and offers both one-to-one tutorials and group sessions. This support can be especially helpful during the early stages of your course as you adjust to the expectations of higher education, but it is available to you at any point throughout your studies. Further updates about academic support services and useful resources are regularly shared on this Teams site for all Higher Education students.

You can contact the HE Academic Support Tutor directly or arrange support through your Course Leader or Personal Tutor. Developing strong study skills is an essential part of your success in higher education, so we encourage you to make use of this support whenever you need it. We are here to help you achieve your full potential and succeed in your course.
