Starbucks houses songwriters evening
Local band, Claypath, hosted a songwriters evening in our on-site Starbucks. The duo lead our further education and higher education music programmes, and wanted to build a community within the music department.
The evening featured some outstanding performances of original material by students of all levels. This opportunity allowed students to showcase their creative ability in front of a real audience. The supportive atmosphere enabled them to experiment with their own songs, and develop as artists.
Eryn-Rae Price, FdA Roots and Popular Music student, said: “I was sharing my music with an audience for the first time and was delighted by the response. It has given me the confidence to develop my work further. I can’t wait for the next one!”
Phil Richardson, Programme Leader, commented: “Having the opportunity to watch the College’s creative talent in an informal setting was fantastic. It was encouraging to see how supportive the students were when watching one another perform.”
For the opening hours of our on-site Starbucks.
