Fundraising Flash Mob
Our Early Years and Education students wanted to do something a little different this year to raise money for Children in Need. Our Level 1 students decided that they would like to do a dance in the East Mall. Level 3 students also took great interest and really wanted to take part – the more the merrier!
The flashmob took alot of organising and they enlisted the help of the Performing Arts students who along with their tutor Lisa, choreographed a mash up dance routine. The students went for practice dance sessions with their tutors Adele, Catherine and Julia-Anne in the dance studio.
The big day arrived and the students were really nervous, but excited at the same time. In the East Mall lots of people had already gathered to see what was going on and then the music started. They all danced the steps that they had learnt to great effect and even passers-by joined in.
The students had so much fun and raised lots of money (£240.08). It is important for Early Years Practitioners in training that we support and contribute to the wider community. This is something that the settings we work with on placement do on a regular basis.
