It's a team game
First year Sports students visited Kirkley Hall Outdoor Activity Centre in October. The visit provided an environment where groups could develop and learn through experiential activity based challenges.
Sessions helped individuals to develop respect, patience, understanding and empathy between classmates, and provided an opportunity for students to work in groups to work cohesively in order to achieve a common objective. All of which are transferable skills that can be used on their course.
John Richardson, Course leader for Level 1 Sport and Active leisure said: “The skills they learnt from the day’s activities will help students on their courses as well as in their everyday life.”
Daniel Singre, Level 1 Sport and Active Leisure student said: “I enjoyed competing against the other groups and helping my group especially when doing the high ropes. It was a good day.”
