Our sports students recently attended an activity day at Durham University, during which they took part in a variety of wheelchair based sports and activities.
During the day the students not only got to experience the top-class sporting facilities at Maiden Castle, but also received coaching from former wheelchair basketball players and the Universities’ Coaching Team.
The activity allowed the students to engage in a new sport, which none had taken part in before, whilst also gaining an insight into different disabilities within sport.
They thoroughly enjoyed the day, and have even been offered the chance to take part in regular sessions at the University, with the potential of joining the team, the Durham University Raptors.
