New College Durham celebrated its vast achievements working in partnership with regional employers at a special networking event hosted in partnership with Durham Business Club.

The College, a founder of Durham Business Club, opened its doors to the members of the club for a special college themed networking evening.  Members of the business club were given a look around the College’s impressive facilities at their Framwellgate Moor Campus and spoke to the College’s students about their courses and the value of work placement projects to their learning experience.

Mark Anderson, Assistant Principal for Curriculum & Employer Engagement said:

“New College Durham has strong working relationships with local business and industry in the region.  The event celebrated this success and extended our welcome to new businesses in the area. We work with regional employers to gain invaluable work experience placements and apprenticeships as well as offering funded training solutions for their current employees. We were delighted to be able to celebrate these achievements with the members of Durham Business Club.”

Guests were given the opportunity to sample the students’ work with free beauty treatments from the Halo Hair & Beauty Salon and a buffet dinner from the Le Nouveau restaurant, both open to members of the public.

Retail consultant, Graham Soult who attended the event said “Despite the snow it was great to see a turnout of over 80 guests at the event.  Not only was the night a brilliant opportunity for networking, I was also fascinated to hear about the extensive range of training and businesses on offer at our local college.”

New College Durham have recently celebrated a £5,000,000 investment for delivering work place learning which will increase their partnerships with more local companies to build skills in the region.
