Former music student auditions on The Voice
Former New College Durham music student, Chloe Castro, from Spennymoor is through to the next round of the BBC show The Voice.
She wowed Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson, with a rendition of From Eden by Hozier, who turned his chair to give her his support in the Blind Auditions round of the competition.
Pippa Anderson, Music Lecturer at New College Durham, said: “When it came to performing, Chloe always displayed a lot of talent, she was very committed. The exposure offered by a prime time TV show such as The Voice is something any singer would welcome and can only have a positive effect on their career. It is an excellent platform for vocalists to showcase their skills and make contacts within the industry.
“Chloe is extremely driven, it is no surprise to see her on a bigger stage and we all wish her every success.”
