Elizabeth Fenwick-Donaldson

Course: BSc (Hons) Podiatry
Previous school: Hetton School

Elizabeth described her experience at New College Durham as fantastic, hard work and rewarding.  She found her work placements valuable as it gave her an insight into how the NHS podiatry system worked.

She said: “I came to New College Durham as it was the only place within easy travelling distance to offer the podiatry degree programme.  The podiatry lecturers treated us like adults, making us take responsibility for our own learning but making us aware that they were there for us if we had any concerns or difficulties. The campus facilities were great, modern and clean.

“The best thing about the course was that the clinical work put into practice what we had been taught in the lectures. I'd like to part own a practice in the future and part of the degree involved looking at how to set up a business.

“The student support is absolutely fantastic, without the support of every one of the podiatry lecturers I would not be doing the job I love now. It's a joy going to work!  I'd recommend New College Durham to anyone wanting to study podiatry.”

Elizabeth is now a Podiatrist for EFD Podiatry Ltd and an Associate at The Chiropody Clinic
