Enya Rosenvinge

Having a flexible timetable at college appealed to Enya because she wanted to gain experience working in the industry alongside her studies.

She said:

“I chose New College Durham over sixth form because it came with a lot of perks, such as free bus passes and free parking. Because we had free lessons, I was able to work part-time within the industry. I really enjoyed my first part-time job as a Passenger Service Agent for Jet2 – it was very insightful.

“I went on some fantastic trips and had some awesome experiences that I wouldn’t have had anywhere else. We visited some amazing places, including New York, Paris, London and Iceland. I also found the employability weeks really interesting as we got to hear from guest speakers from the industry – this is how I secured my job with Jet2.

“We were able to do additional training to add to our skillset, such as fire safety training. I use the skills I learnt during our fire safety day at Newcastle International Airport in my current role as Cabin Crew for TUI airways.

“I am couldn’t thank the tutors at New College Durham enough as they helped me get to where I am today. The facilities and opportunities were amazing and my experience was incredibly unique, interesting and adventurous.”

Enya worked part-time alongside the course and progressed from Passenger Service Agent to Cabin Crew with Jet2.
