James Priestley

Course Studied: A-Level Applied Science, History and Biology
Previous School: Ferryhill Business and Enterprise College

When James visited the College his first impression was the brilliant college atmosphere: He thought it was friendly and the tutors were very supportive. The course content, relaxed campus and enrichment activities all appealed to him and helped make his final decision when choosing which college to attend.

James said: “The best thing about the course was that I was able to choose what I wanted to do and wasn’t forced into any decisions; I especially enjoyed Applied Science. The supportive tutors, along with the other students made my college experience fantastic. The relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere enabled me to grow in confidence and be myself throughout the two years.”

He recently attended Edinburgh Fringe Festival, performing the Wind Road Boys, an original musical about the mining heritage of County Durham. James said: “It was a great experience, which has given me confidence in my ability and that I can do anything I set my mind to.”

James is now studying Crime Scene Science at Teesside University, a course he is thoroughly enjoying.
