Courses: A Level Law, English Literature and Art
Previous school attended: Framwellgate Moor School
Jennifer originally chose the wrong subjects when she first left school to do A-Levels, so decided to restart the year at New College Durham.
As part of extra-curricular activities, Jennifer was part of the student ambassador team which meant representing the college at external events with employers and other education providers and helping with fundraising events. Jennifer regularly assisted with the Information and Advice events and took park in two presentations that showcased the Sixth Form Centre to other colleagues and schools in the area.
Jennifer said “I enjoy the student-teacher relationship because there is a mutual respect. I thought the teaching staff in the Sixth Form Centre were the best teachers I have ever had, if I had any problems they did everything in their power to help and were extremely supportive during my time at the College. I also like the size of the Sixth Form because everyone knows each other, it creates a nicer atmosphere and it really feels like a community.
After gaining fantastic results in her A-Levels, including an A in Art, Jennifer is completing her first year in BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing at Northumbria University. Following this she hopes to go on to work in fashion either in design, marketing or advertising. Through one-to-one initial meetings with her personal tutor Jennifer selected a programme of A-Levels that matched her intended career pathway.
A-Levels will enable you to study academic subjects in more depth.
