Courses: A Level English Literature, History, Art & Design and Psychology
Previous school attended: Woodham Academy
Having achieved A grades in Art and English Literature and B grades in History and Psychology at New College Durham in 2013, Paige is currently studying for a BA (Hons) in English Literature at Newcastle University. While at the College, she benefited from the Sixth Form Centre’s close partnership with Newcastle University. The college appealed to her because of its size, the friendly and helpful nature of the staff and students and the diversity of the College.
Paige says “While the Sixth Form Centre was relatively small, I liked that there was an opportunity to mix with students and who studied a range of different courses. I liked the rapport that the students were able to build with lecturers and the professional yet friendly attitude of staff.
“For me, the best things about the course were the class sizes; my classes were relatively small allowing for more contact time with lecturers.”
Paige felt that the campus is well laid out and is more like a university style building rather than a school which made the transition to university much easier.
