At the end of June, four of our students embarked on a 26-hour journey to arrive in the USA a week ahead of July 4th.
Media Lecturer, Simon Jefferson, joined the lucky group of graphic design, art, media and business students on the trip supported by the 2021-2022 Turing Scheme. Over the 15 days, the group took part in numerous organised business workshops, including identifying your target audience, managing finances, and emotional intelligence in business.
On July 4th the group visited Boston for breakfast in Little Italy and walked along the freedom trail tour. After browsing the shops, the group enjoyed watching fireworks from their apartment.
The students were blessed with good weather and despite being on the go all the time, they relished in the fantastic opportunity and got a lot out of the trip.
Christine Gibson, NCD Learning Support Assistant who joined the students on the trip, said:
“The students had the opportunity to meet a range of new people, both experienced entrepreneurs and other students. They exchanged ideas and views and benefitted from gaining an insight into the industry from professionals. The group also enjoyed exploring Boston, sightseeing, and shopping. They are a very talented group of young people who are a credit to the college”
