We are looking to appoint an apprentice to join our Sales Department, reporting to Senior Business Development Manager.
Business Administrator Apprentice (level 3) - Lamesley
We employ more than 2,000 people based at 38 sites throughout the UK and Australasia. In the UK James Jones & Sons (Pallets and Packaging) Ltd manufactures up to 7 million new pallets and repairs up to 25 million pallets per annum across our 15 sites. Our pallet and packaging operation benefits from the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the UK, a national distribution network, and offers a complete range of pallets and specialist timber packaging.
We are looking to appoint an apprentice to join our Sales Department, reporting to Senior Business Development Manager.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday and the core hours will be 08.00 to 16.30.
About the role:
We are currently looking to recruit Business Administrative Apprentice level 3 at our Lamesley site. This is an excellent opportunity to be in paid employment while learning new skills, experience and gaining qualifications .
The successful candidate will initially work within our Sales Department demonstrating the skills and aptitude needed before attending college on day release/block release from September 2024.
The apprenticeship will give you ample time to learn and develop your skills and expertise whilst performing tasks to earn your qualifications.
Assisting sales staff in handling a wide range of customer enquiries, generating costing sheets for approval prior to customer submission, input of data, CRM interactions and opportunities, and general sales office administration.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
You will undertake a structured apprenticeship programme (up to 18months) which will incorporate theoretical study at college and experiential learning on-site at our Lamesley site.
You will gain skills and knowledge through work experience and college learning to provide administrative support to the team/site. Through work experience and job shadowing you will gain knowledge of the sales/customer systems.
Main Duties
Liaise with customers both via telephone and email
Create new customer accounts
Convert from quotation to order
Monitor customer ordering performance
Maintain good customer service
Maintain customer records
Complete daily interactions
Chase customer opportunities
Skills and Experience:
A team player with a strong sense of personal responsibility/ownership and a positive “can do” attitude
Ability to communicate and work accurately and effectively with colleagues
Self-motivated and able to use initiative
Must have level 2 in English and maths
Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook would be essential
