Healthcare Assistant Apprentice

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Healthcare Assistant Apprentices to work within County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.

The post is to provide healthcare support to a dedicated team in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures whilst studying a Senior Healthcare Support Worker Level 3 Apprenticeship.  The apprenticeship entails learning the role of a Healthcare Assistant, their duties and responsibilities, whilst caring for patients. You will be responsible for providing excellent patient care whilst working as part of an effective team.

  • Training

    Formal training sessions will be part of the Apprenticeship programme, delivered in partnership with New College Durham. Training will take place at New College Durham or at one of County Durham and Darlington N H S Foundation Trust premises.

    We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
