POST SPECIALITY Finance
ORGANSIATIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Directly responsible to: Senior Finance Officer
Work alongside: Other staff, councillors, Community Groups and Partners
Responsible for: Supporting the delivery of an effective finance and administrative support service
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE
The post holder will provide a finance administration service including cashbook, debtors & creditors ledgers within the Sage 50 Accounts Professional financial software, undertaking online banking activities, as well as dealing with paper records. The postholder will also provide general customer service support via telephone and office reception duties, including taking payment for goods and services.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific duties and responsibilities include (and not necessarily limited to):
To ensure the accurate recording of debtors & creditors ledgers and cashbook; processing of purchase orders; reconciliation of accounts
Processing of timesheets and payroll under the supervision of the Senior Finance Officer.
Ensuring that invoices and reminders are issued as per financial regulations.
Undertake till reconciliation and banking
Assisting with the Council’s reception service (front desk and telephone) dealing with callers and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
Filing, photocopying, and post duties.
Other reasonable duties that are commensurate with the role.

Training
Training will include a one day Sage 50 Accounts course and all other in house training will be in line with the duties in the job description.
