Accountancy Apprentice

OGI Groundwater Specialists Ltd is a leading engineering design and consultancy company based in Durham, with over 30 years’ experience. We’re looking for a motivated apprentice to join our close-knit business management team, supporting finance, payroll, cost control and continuous improvement as the company grows.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and numerate individual to join OGI as an Accountancy Apprentice. This is an excellent opportunity to build a career in accountancy and business management within a well-established, specialist engineering company, gaining real hands-on finance experience from day one.

You will study towards your AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting while working alongside our administration team and third-party accountants. You will follow a structured development process, with the opportunity to progress to AAT Level 4 and beyond as your skills, responsibilities and qualifications grow.

What You Will Be Doing:

Assisting with the processing of purchase and sales invoices

Supporting bank reconciliations and day-to-day bookkeeping tasks

Helping to prepare management accounts and financial reports

Assisting with project cost tracking and budget monitoring

Supporting payroll administration and expense processing

Helping to maintain accurate financial records and filing systems

Liaising with suppliers, clients and colleagues on financial queries

Providing general administrative and business support to the wider team as required

  Education and Entry Requirements

  Applicants should hold, or be expecting to achieve, G C S Es (or equivalent) including Maths and English at grade B/ C or above, or equivalent qualifications suitable for entry onto a Level 3 A A T apprenticeship pathway.

  Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a genuine interest in numbers, finance and business, and the curiosity to understand how a company operates behind the scenes.
