Level 3 Health and Social Care
Emily wanted to progress to university to study adult nursing.
She said:
“At NCD you are treated like an adult, my tutors respected me and treated me with maturity. I was given the freedom to manage my own studies and assignments which was a nice change to school.
“The support I received from my tutors was fantastic, they were so supportive and really motivated me to get the best possible grade.
“I took part in the World Skills Health and Social Care qualifying heats. It was a great experience and looks brilliant as something extra on my CV.”
After college, Emily progressed straight into employment within the industry, she continued:
“I worked in a private psychiatric hospital on the acute wards and the psychiatric intensive care units as a Healthcare Assistant. I have also worked in a care home and as a Radiology Assistant for the NHS.
Emily is currently employed by the Royal Navy:
“I will be joining Birmingham City University in September to complete my studies to become a fully qualified Naval Nurse. I am really excited and feel privileged as the university course is fully funded by the Royal Navy.”
