Course Overview

This bootcamp is delivered at state-of-the-art facilities located at the Port of Blyth. Participants will have access to the Wind Turbine Training Facility—the only wind turbine in the UK dedicated to training purposes—and the High Voltage Centre of Excellence, equipped with the latest industry-standard tools and testing equipment. Training is conducted on an operational High Voltage 3-phase network.

Trainees will work with cables sourced from offshore wind projects and accessories from leading manufacturers, ensuring hands-on experience with authentic materials. The programme also includes a fully immersive learning experience within the Energy Central Learning Hub’s immersive room in Blyth.

Our instructors possess extensive offshore wind industry experience and provide instruction based on practical, real-world scenarios. Upon completion, participants will have acquired the necessary knowledge and skills to begin a professional career as high voltage cable jointers in the offshore wind sector.

With the offshore wind industry experiencing significant growth, there is currently a shortage of qualified high voltage cable jointers. This bootcamp offers a timely opportunity to meet this demand and contribute to a rapidly expanding field.

This is a level 3 Skills Bootcamp.
