This qualification encourages an understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children. They cover children’s growth, learning and development. There are also units to help with self-development. Learners from Level 1 Diploma Caring for Children usually progress on to our L2 Early Years Practitioner programme.

Interview and meet the tutor event is required for entry on to this programme.
Modules Studied
There are 13 modules to study on Level 1, including Safeguarding, health and safety, music with children, the importance of play. There are no formal exams for the Level 1 programme, everything is assessed through course work. You may need to sit exams for maths and English, if required.
Times of Delivery
Level 1 Diploma in Caring for Children is taught over 10 hours per week, in addition you will also attend personal development and may need to attend maths and English if you do not secure those grades at GCSE level. Days are to be confirmed.
