Our keen graphic designers and filmmakers embarked on an incredible trip to Boston where they took part in a range of bespoke sessions and enjoyed downtime to explore the city.
A highlight and an unforgettable experience for the group took place at Fenway Park where the Boston Red Sox absolutely destroyed the Texas Rangers.
The group also got involved in an exciting journey of entrepreneurship at MassArt campus with the talented and experienced US specialist, Mary Anne Squillace. Mary Anne led the group through a series of immersive and thought-provoking sessions that challenged them to explore their own business ideas. They were guided through the dynamic business model canvas before working on their ideas and then presenting their creations in a “Dragon’s Den” style pitch.
Over the two weeks, the group also experienced the delicious food found in the USA. In a break between sessions, they headed to Quincy Market – a bustling food hall – for a culinary adventure. From clam chowder and lobster rolls to churros, the students fuelled up for some shopping and to geek out at a local comic shop.
Simon Jefferson, Media Lecturer, commented:
“I am incredibly proud of their boldness, creativity and determination. It was great to see the group unlock their business potential.”
On July 4th, the group travelled beyond the city border to discover the enchanting town of Salem – infamous for its witch trials, Salem is now thriving with all things magical and alternative. Taking in the town’s history with multiple museums and a live recreation of the trials.
That evening, the group returned to Boston to watch a spectacular display of fireworks in the night sky.
