Our Football Development Centre (FDC) players were invited to take part in the first Kickoff@3 tournament to take place at Maiden Castle since 2018.
At the last tournament, our squad won the regional tournament and NCD qualified to play in the national final. The team were over the moon to place as runners-up.
Shazad Sadiq, Durham Police Sergeant and regional Kickoff@3 organiser, was incredibly impressed with the way our FDC players apply themselves. Shaz said:
“Now the tournament is only for 14–16-year-olds, it meant the players at NCD were no longer able to compete. Their attitude and enthusiasm for the game is respectable so I invited them to assist in refereeing the matches at the regional tournament at Maiden Castle. They were brilliant!”
