Music SoundWaves compMusic student, Megan Holland, has made it to the national SoundWaves Music Competition final and will be performing at the O2 Institute in Birmingham next May.

The Soundwaves competition is open to all genres, including solo singers, bands, duos and groups. It aims to find new talent and provides the music artists who win with an unforgettable multinational platform to gain invaluable exposure.

Megan, aka SheWayOut, is studying on the second year of our music degree and takes her inspiration from indie music, such as The Night Café, Feverdream and Bombay Bicycle Club.

SheWayOut said:

“The music degree at NCD has given me the courage and helped me gain a level of knowledge to feel ready to push myself out into the world. My tutors have really encouraged me and shaped me into the musician I am today. I wouldn’t have applied to the competition without their support!”

SheWayOut successfully made it through the first three stages of the competition: an audio clip, a face-to-face gig with other acts who made it through and submitting two pre-recorded videos of two songs to be jusged.

A huge congratulations to Megan for passing all three stages of judging and we wish SheWayOut good luck for the national final on 28 May 2022.
