Our T-Level Construction and Civil Engineering students were invited for a site visit by GMI Construction Group’s project team.
For most of the group, this was their first visit to a live construction site. The Bowburn, Durham site is part of the Integra 61 development of logistics, warehousing and industrial units to be completed over the coming 12 months.
The group were given a informative tour of the site, and gained a valuable insight into the various roles and opportunities available within today’s construction industry from the GMI on-site management team.
There was a buzz amongst the students once they returned to college. They agreed they have a better understanding of the industry they are studying to be part of, including construction site activities and the careers available in the booming sector.
The group impressed GMI and four have secured their T-Level industry placement on site.
